Birse Rail was responsible for the delivery of a new station in Corby based on the Network Rail modular design.
Spanning a 12 x 12 metre floor plan area, the station is a two-storey development comprising the main office, public and staff toilet facilities and a service and plant room on the first floor.
The contract also included a new single 240m platform with canopies both on the platform and bus side of the development. Outside the main station area, the transport interchange includes a bus interchange area, car drop-off and pick-up areas, a taxi rank and car park.
Works was carried out to a very tight programme with just 11 weeks design and 11 weeks construction.
